We’ve all done it before, made resolutions to make major changes in the upcoming year, only to crash and burn after a few weeks.

It can be easy to run out of gas on the whole “resolution thing” before you get started.

Well, here are some ways that might help your New Year’s Resolutions become more attainable.

Write it Down

This is one of the best ways to keep track of your goals.  Make a list of your resolutions and place it somewhere like the refrigerator door or near your computer so that you can see it every day.

You may also want to get a daily planner so that you can keep track of smaller goals that you may want to complete throughout the day.

Seeing this list will help you stay on target and assist in tracking your progress.

Pace Yourself

Making a major lifestyle change can seem unachievable, if you go about it the wrong way.

For example, if following a cleaner diet is your goal.  Start out by changing one thing at a time.

Like, instead of snacking on a bag of chips, trade it out for a piece of fruit or a serving of nuts. The next couple of days try to add a vegetable to dinner and so on.

Take your time with it and you will reap the benefits.

Plan it Out

How are you going to get to the end result?  Decide what steps you would like to take ahead of time.

Like, if you are going to finally stop smoking, do some research.  Check out other blogs or vlogs of people who have quit smoking to see what methods they may have used to finally kick the habit.

Set a day and a time to start your plan and push through to your goals.

Add an App

There is a phone app for almost everything these days.  Let’s say that you would like to lose weight this year.

Why not download an App that will help you count your calorie intake and monitor your exercise regimen?

Check your phones app store, there are many free, user friendly apps that can be downloaded to your phone or tablet.

Visualize it

When you start to feel like you can’t go on or that it is taking too long to complete your resolutions, think about how great you are going to feel and how accomplished and further ahead you will be.

Visualizing will help you with get over the hump and reach success.

Keep Calm

Don’t be so hard on yourself. There is no need to throw the towel in just because you weren’t able to complete your tasks as expected.

Things are not always going to go as planned.  The important thing is to stay encouraged and keep keeping on.

Never Give Up

The key is to keep moving forward.  You have to be like the little engine that could when it comes to resolutions.  If it didn’t happen today, don’t be afraid to try again tomorrow.

Each day is a new opportunity to get a little bit closer to your goals so make advances each day and press on!
