Whether you are recovering from a recent failure or taking on a new task, set a good intention.

Let this start when you wake up and continue throughout the day.

3) Believe That You Can

Setting out to achieve a goal, that we may know very little about, can be extremely intimidating.

5) Trust the Process

We see them all the time in media, in our email boxes, and as we drive down the street.  Endless products from retailers that are being offered on sale.

This simply means, if it is a want and not necessarily a need, you probably don’t really need it in the first place.

Save Automatically

Set up to have a certain amount of money transferred into a savings account every paycheck or on a monthly basis.

Why?  Because he wasn’t living for himself, he was living in comparison to someone else.

To think that your purpose means that you need to keep up with the Joneses or have more than the guy you went to high school with, is a huge misconception as well.

The reality, we all have our own paths to walk. What’s going on in someone else’s life has nothing to do with what should go on in yours.

If you were to die tomorrow, can you truly say that you’ve lived the life that you’ve desired?

If not, it’s time for change.

Find Your Passion

You may have heard before that our passion is usually something that you would do even if you didn’t get paid for it.

It’s in our dreams and fills our hearts with joy. We light up with just the thought of what we wish to achieve.

Now, take some time to step outside of your current thought pattern.  Think about what you are spending most of your time doing.

  • Discard unwanted mail as soon as it comes and set mail in a designated area for when you are ready to go through it.

  • Wash dishes as you cook and make sure that dry dishes are put away.
  • Items that are not being used or are off season should be stored away until needed.
  • Before bed, do a walkthrough of the house or office and make sure that things are put away.

Are You Making The Best Use of Your Time?

For some of us, time seems to go by so quickly that we sit and wonder, where did the time go and whether or not we are making the best use of it.

Each person is unique and has to walk their own path and travel their own journey.

This is why it is important to do what motivates you and not live by the standards of others.

  • Doing what appeases others rather than yourself
  • Working a job that you hate
  • Taking on too many projects at the same time
  • Engaging in negative talk

Minimize Social Media Time

One major contributor to time wasted these days has to do with time spent on social media.  It has literally become societies new way of doodling. 

Popping in and out of different social sites can be a fun way to unwind.  However, it is rarely productive and can be overly stimulating to the brain. 

Try and keep social media to a minimum by choosing a designated time to use it, after that put the phone away so that you can complete other tasks that need your attention.

A great way to maximize your down time would be to get away for a few minutes by taking a stroll or making a list of things you would like to complete for the week.

Get Organized

If it takes you 20 minutes in the morning to find your car keys, then you are not alone. 

Being disorganized and not putting things back in their proper place is a great way to lose unwarranted time.   

Make it a priority to change this habit by organizing important items so that they are readily available to you.

Everything should be in its proper place so that it can easily be located when needed.  It should also be placed back in its designated spot when done.

Stop Procrastinating

Procrastination has been defined as an intentional delay of starting or completing a task.

But, putting things off until later or saying that you’ll get to it tomorrow just another way of throwing time away.

We tend to procrastinate when we don’t want to do something or seems overwhelming.

Start making a conscious effort to start and finish what needs to be done so that you become efficient daily.

Learn to Say No

If you can fit something into your schedule that doesn’t pull you away from your priorities, then all the better.

I could go on, but my point is…many of us are just too accustomed to its convenience in our lives.

We do things like stay at a dead-end job for years on end because we feel that we won’t find another one that will satisfy our needs.

And even though we may be in an unhealthy relationship, we have a fear of being alone or feel that we just don’t deserve to be happy.

So, we stay out of comfort, and fear that we can’t do any better.

Afterall, we already know what we’re dealing with, right?

Often times we fail to take that leap of faith to either salvage what we have or simply move on, out of comfort.

A major contributor to these fearful emotions has to do with our surroundings.  Social media, news media, and negative talk from people who are around us can bring us down and keep us stagnant.

The Power of Letting Go of Fear

It is important to know that living with constant fear can cause disease in the body.

Chronic worry can eventually trigger the body into producing excess cortisol. 

According to Dr. Travis Stork, M.D., from “The Drs.” television show, excessive cortisol can cause high blood pressure, obesity, and lead to type 2 diabetes.

You should also make note that fear is an emotion that is usually linked to the unknown. 

Many times, we are afraid of things that haven’t even happened yet.

Unfortunately, these ill feelings can turn something that can potentially be good for us into something bad, emotionally.

But letting go, moving past it, and pushing through is a great way to start the healing process.

There truly is power in letting go and having the faith to fulfill our desires.

7 Ways to Free Yourself

1. Pray

Worrying and being fearful of situations in your life leads to stress, anxiety, and more worry and fear.

As we know, this offers no assistance whatsoever to what we may be dealing with.  Instead of casting these types of emotions, pray.

When you pray, be fervent and specific of a positive outcome, no matter what.

Ask for the success of that job promotion, blessings for safe travel over your trip or peace and love in your home.

Regardless to what it is, pray and hand it over to God first.

2. Make The Decision

Decide that you are going to change your situation.  It doesn’t matter if you want to change jobs, write a book, or lose 20 pounds.

This may mean that you need to take a course to sharpen your skills or network with a new set of people to help you in your advancement.

But whatever it is, go ahead and move forward. 

Make the decision to taking the first steps in completing whatever it is that you wish to accomplish, change, or eliminate.

3. Update Your Circle

We’d like to think that the people that are closest to us will be there to celebrate our decisions and help us through our fears of stepping out on faith.  But this is not always the case.

You may find that you need to change your immediate circle if those around you offer discouragement. 

This may be hard to do at first, but necessary.  If growth is what you need, it may be time to stay away from the naysayers.

Instead, surround yourself with people who are in support of what you are trying to accomplish.

Those who are not, really should be kept at a distance regarding your journey.

4. Move In Silence

If you have a goal that you would like to achieve, you may not want to speak about it to anyone that doesn’t have a definite need to know.

Keep in mind that it isn’t necessary to announce to everyone what you are up to.  You’d be surprised at the lengths that others would go to hinder you from your accomplishments.

Also, this offers you the ability to achieve what is needed without unnecessary distractions.  Move in silence and focus on your tasks.

5. Break The Monotony

It is true that we are creatures of habit.  We drive the same routes, hang out with the same people and do the same things day in and day out. 

Maybe its time to shake it up a bit. Do things that encourage and require you to change such as joining a book club or taking up a new sport. 

This can help you ease into changing old habits while forming new ones.

6. Write Out A Plan

Writing out your plans is a great way to log what you wish to achieve.  Having goals written down on paper helps as a guide while giving great perspective.

Completely a task and then marking it off can be rewarding and gives a great sense of accomplishment. 

Going through the plan will aid in keeping you on track and bringing your dreams to life.

7. Learn To Be Uncomfortable

This is probably one of the main reasons why people don’t pursue things that they wish to accomplish.  They will be pulled out of there comfort zone, possibly not succeed, or perhaps come up against some challenges that they don’t like. 

Something to make note of is that doing the same things is very comfortable, but it doesn’t do anything for your personal growth and will keep you in the same spot.

Instead of worrying about what could happen if you don’t achieve your goals, get excited about what could happen if you do.

Remember to push through and never give up on your dreams.
