Healthy Habits to Live By

They say that the older you get, the harder it is to recover from illness.

So why wouldn’t you want to develop a healthier habits for the sake of looking good, being healthy and feeling great?

A Healthy lifestyle isn’t so hard to follow when you take it one day at a time, and here a few healthy habits that may change your life for the better.

Plan Your Day

Developing the habit of mapping out your day is so beneficial for staying on track.

So plan your meals for the week. If you can, keep a list of activities that you would like to accomplish daily so that you don’t miss out on fulfilling your goals.

You may not always hit all of your targets but you’re much better off reaching them if you have a plan.

Eating a Healthy Diet

Eating healthy isn’t so hard to do when you realize how beneficial it is for you in the long run.

If you’re not a big fan of fruits or vegetables, try and find a few that you can settle in on and incorporate them in to your diet.

Eating this way will not only help you gain energy, it will help to promote a smooth and healthy digestive system.

Find some smoothie recipes on the the internet.  You might be surprised at how good vegetables and fruit can be when they are blended together!

Exercise

Get in the habit of moving your body daily.

If a majority of the day your body is resting, then resting is exactly what the body will want to do.

However, when the body is in the habit of moving throughout the day, it will crave movement.

To help prevent heart disease and stroke, the American Heart Association recommends that adults get at least 30 minutes of cardio 5 days per week.

So get moving when you can because it truly is beneficial for the mind, body and soul.

Communicate with Others

Make a conscious  effort to step from behind the cell phone or the computer and actually meet up for coffee or lunch from time to time.

Face-to-face communication, with friends and family, encourages better relationships and provides a bond that you just cannot get on social media or a text message.

Visit the Doctor

Now, this is not going to be a favorite for many people.

But being proactive when it comes to your health is not only smart, It can save your life.  Making the necessary appointments in advance can keep you on schedule and informed of health concerns.

So get your annual check ups as needed.

 Relax

Relaxation is so very important to the body, mind and soul.  It’s like a battery.  Without it, you can’t function at the level that you need to.

So take time to relax every day.

One of the most important things is getting a good night of uninterrupted sleep. It does wonders for the body and can make all the difference for a productive day.
